Privacy policy
This text explains how Humilius processes personal data through the houz.be website. Houz is not available yet: for now, you can only join the waitlist.
Who is responsible?

What data do we process and why?
Waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we process:
- your email address (required) and the language of the site where you signed up;
- optionally: how many rental units you have and what you use today to keep track of your rentals;
- the proof of your consent: the version and exact text of the consent you saw, the time of your consent, of your confirmation and, if applicable, of your unsubscription, and the page where you signed up;
- a confirmation code. We only store an irreversible derivative (hash) of the code, not the code itself.
We use this data only to let you know about the launch of Houz, and for nothing else. You are only on the waitlist after you confirm your subscription through the email we send you (double opt-in). Without confirmation we will not send you any further messages.
Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email. This does not affect processing that took place before.
Form security
To prevent abuse of the form, we count the number of attempts per IP address and per email address. For this we do not store an IP address or email address in readable form, but a code derived with a secret key (pseudonymisation). These codes are deleted after about a day.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the website and the form against abuse (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Technical data when you visit
The website is hosted by Vercel. On each visit, the hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address, the time and the requested page in order to deliver and secure the website.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics or advertising services. Fonts are loaded from our own server.
Nor does the website store anything in your browser’s local storage (localStorage).
Who do we share data with?
We do not sell your data. We do use service providers that process data on our behalf (processors):
- Supabase, for the waitlist database;
- Brevo, for sending emails;
- Vercel, for hosting the website.
We have data processing agreements with these parties. Where possible we choose a region in the European Union. If data is processed outside the European Economic Area, this is done on the basis of standard contractual clauses or an equivalent transfer safeguard.
How long do we keep data?
- Confirmed subscriptions: until 6 months after the launch of Houz, or until you unsubscribe.
- Unconfirmed subscriptions: we delete them automatically after 30 days.
- If you unsubscribe, we stop writing to you. We then keep your email address for another 12 months as proof of unsubscription and delete it automatically.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict its processing, receive it in a portable format and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Contact us using the details above. We reply within one month.
Do not agree with how we handle your data? You can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority: dataprotectionauthority.be.
Changes
We may update this policy, for example when Houz launches. The version on this page is the current version. See also our terms of use and the legal notice.
